One World, One Code: Crafting Ethical Foundations for Global AI

About This Course

Establishing Global AI Ethics Standards is an international course focused on shaping a unified global ethical framework for Artificial Intelligence. As AI systems impact economies, democracies, and human rights across borders, the need for cohesive ethical standards has never been more critical. This course brings together AI technologists, policymakers, ethicists, human rights experts, and legal scholars to collaboratively develop practical frameworks, review global initiatives (such as the UNESCO AI Ethics Guidelines, OECD principles, and the EU AI Act), and explore cross-cultural ethical convergence. Participants will engage in thoughtful dialogue, simulations, and policy design labs, moving from theoretical principles to actionable implementation.

Aim

The goal of this course is to establish a common understanding of ethical principles, governance structures, and international cooperation in AI development. We aim to create inclusive, global, and practical standards for responsible AI that are both actionable and reflective of diverse cultural and ethical values.

Course Structure

📅 Module 1 – Comparative Study of Global AI Ethics Frameworks

  • Lecture: “Comparative Study: EU’s Risk-Based AI Act vs. China’s Algorithm Registry” – Dive into the differences between the EU’s AI Act, which uses a risk-based approach, and China’s algorithm registry, focusing on regulatory philosophies and their ethical implications.
  • Case Study: “Clearview AI: Navigating GDPR Fines and U.S. Free Speech Protections” – Analyze the legal and ethical challenges faced by Clearview AI regarding GDPR violations and free speech protections in the U.S.

📅 Module 2 – Designing Multinational AI Compliance Frameworks

  • Group Task: “Designing a Hybrid Compliance Framework for Multinational AI Firms” – Collaborate to design a compliance framework that addresses the needs of multinational AI companies, ensuring both local and global ethical standards are met.
  • Pitch Session: “Presentations to a Mock Panel of EU and FCC Regulators” – Present your proposed frameworks to a mock panel of regulators, simulating the regulatory review process for multinational AI firms.

📅 Module 3 – Building Global Consensus & Actionable Standards

  • Submission: “Publishing Frameworks for Broader Industry Adoption” – Finalize your ethical frameworks and present them for broader industry adoption.
  • Collaboration & Discussion: Engage in global dialogue to ensure that your frameworks are culturally sensitive, actionable, and enforceable across jurisdictions.

Course Outcomes

  • Understand Global AI Ethical Frameworks: Gain insight into existing ethical principles governing AI around the world, and analyze where they align or diverge.
  • Create Culturally Sensitive, Enforceable AI Ethics Standards: Learn how to develop and implement AI ethics standards that are both globally relevant and sensitive to local cultural contexts.
  • Collaborate on a Global AI Ethics Charter: Contribute to drafting a Global AI Ethics Charter that can be adopted across industries and nations.
  • Build a Global Network of Ethics Leaders: Join a network of like-minded professionals working towards a unified ethical framework for AI.

Some topics could be organized in different order. That occurred at the end of training in the last More day when the mentor needed to remind one by one where is the ligand where is the target. It can be helpful to label components (files) like that and label days of training respectively.
