Workshop Structure
Day 1: Advanced Sustainability Frameworks and Campus Assessment
- Sustainability Frameworks: Deep dive into STARS, ISO 14001, and LEED.
- Campus Sustainability Audits: Using tools like EnergyPlus and OpenLCA for sustainability assessments.
- Hands-On: Perform a campus sustainability audit and create a baseline report.
Day 2: Action-Based Sustainability Projects
- Energy Efficiency & Renewables: Advanced strategies for energy-saving buildings and renewable integration.
- Waste and Circular Economy: Zero-waste programs and lifecycle assessments using OpenLCA.
- Water Management & Green Infrastructure: Rainwater harvesting, water-efficient systems, and green campus design.
- Transportation Systems: Sustainable mobility solutions like EV infrastructure and bike-sharing programs.
- Hands-On: Develop an action plan for one sustainability area (energy, waste, water, transport).
Day 3: Monitoring, Engagement, and Long-Term Strategy
- Sustainability Monitoring: Real-time data tracking with Google Data Studio or custom dashboards.
- Community Engagement: Strategies for involving students, staff, and faculty in sustainability efforts.
- Impact Measurement & Reporting: Use of LCA, SBTi, and GRI for sustainability reporting.
- Scaling & Long-Term Strategy: Transitioning pilot projects to campus-wide sustainability goals.
- Hands-On: Create a monitoring and reporting framework with KPIs and real-time tracking.
