About This Course

This international workshop introduces participants to a curated ecosystem of AI-driven academic research tools. Designed for both early-stage researchers and experienced academicians, the workshop demystifies how AI can support key phases of research—from literature mapping to manuscript preparation, and from statistical modeling to qualitative analysis.

Participants will explore a wide range of platforms and practices including AI summarizers, citation managers, writing assistants, statistical modelers, and NLP-based coding tools. The workshop promotes ethical use of AI while boosting productivity, creativity, and publication readiness.

To empower researchers, scholars, and students with practical knowledge of AI-powered tools that enhance the efficiency, quality, and impact of academic literature review, scientific writing, and data analysis across disciplines.

Skills: Finding key papers, visualizing citation networks
Activity: Identify 2–3 relevant papers on your topic

3. Summarizing & Comparing Research 
Tools: ChatGPT, SciSpace, Elicit
Skills: Summarizing papers, extracting insights, comparisons
Activity: Summarize a research paper using AI

4. Academic Writing & Citations 
Tools: Scite.ai, Grammarly AI, PaperPal
Skills: Enhancing clarity, adding citations, avoiding plagiarism
Activity: Refine an abstract and add smart citations

5. AI for Data Analysis 
Tools: Google Colab + ChatGPT, Excel AI
Skills: Cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data
Activity: Analyze a dataset and generate insights

6. Build a Personal Research Assistant 
Tools: ChatPDF, ChatDOC, GPT with RAG
Skills: Create Q&A bots from PDFs
Activity: Upload a paper, ask research-specific questions

7. Ethics
Topics: AI bias, responsible use, UNESCO/IEEE guidelines
