The Green NanoSynth Workshop offers a deep dive into sustainable nano NiO synthesis and its applications in renewable hydrogen production. Over three days, participants will explore green nanotechnology, green chemistry principles, and NiO nano-catalysts. The workshop combines theoretical knowledge, hands-on demos, and case studies, emphasizing the role of green nanotechnology in sustainability. It provides a collaborative platform for networking and innovation, exploring future research directions in hydrogen production from water and ethanol.

Aim

The Green NanoSynth Workshop aims to deepen understanding of sustainable NiO nanocatalyst synthesis and their use in renewable hydrogen production. Covering green nanotechnology principles, NiO nanomaterials, and characterization techniques, the workshop equips participants with skills to advance green nanotechnology and tackle sustainability challenges. Attendees will also engage in case studies, explore future trends, and network to foster collaboration and innovation in this critical field.

Workshop Objectives

  1. To provide  a comprehensive understanding of green nanotechnology principles and their importance for sustainable development of human societies.
  2. To familiarize participants with the key principles of green chemistry, green engineering and environmentally friendly synthesis methods for the production of nanocatalysts
  3. To introduce participants to the properties, characteristics, and applications of nano NiO and its off-sprints in catalysis for renewable hydrogen production.
  4. To equip participants with practical skills in various sustainable synthesis techniques for nano NiO and its off-springs, including plant-mediated, microbial, sonochemical, plasma and microwave-assisted synthesis.
  5. To train participants in advanced characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), SEM with EDAX, AFM, XPS, Fourier transform – infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), UV-Vis spectroscopy, Dynamic light scattering (DLS), BET-sorptometry, TG-DTA, TPD, TPR and electroanalytical methodsfor for analysing nano NiO and its derivatives.
  6. To explore the integration of NiO nanoparticles in hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and ethanol/bioethanol reforming reactions for renewable hydrogen production and to understand the reaction mechanism involved.
  7. To examine the real-world case studies and industrial applications of NiO based nanomaterials for renewable hydrogen production, providing insights into the best practices and challenges in the industrial realm
  8. To discuss the future trends and opportunities in green nanotechnology research, highlighting potential areas for innovation and industrial implementation.
  9. To foster networking and collaboration among participants, industry professionals, and experts in the field, facilitating knowledge exchange and potential research partnerships.

Dr. Indra Neel Pulidindi is a Scientific consultant at the Jesus’ Scientific Consultancy for Industrial and Academic Research. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry from IIT Madras in 2010 and earned his postdoctoral research experience (9 years) from the Bar Ilan Univeristy, Israel and the Hanyang University, Korea and the SJTU, China. Subsequently, he has worked as an assistant professor in the department of Chemical Sciences at the GSFCU, Vadodara for 13 months (from 19th September 2022 to 20th October 2023. He has 10 years of experience in the field of research (Catalysis) and teaching (Chemistry). His areas of expertise includes: Electrochemistry, Catalysis, Energy sources. He is the author of three Indian patents, four US patent applications, 50 research papers and 6 books. He is the recipient of the Advanced Scientific brain fellowship from the government of Korea.
