Assess the Environmental Footprint of Connected Products—from Hardware to Cloud and End-of-Life.

Skills you will gain:

About Program:

This 3-day hands-on workshop introduces Life Cycle Assessment for Industrial IoT devices and smart products. Participants will learn to assess impacts from electronics, batteries, energy use, connectivity, edge/cloud computing, and end-of-life using tools such as Brightway, openLCA, CodeCarbon, Cumulator, and Eco2AI.

Aim: To equip participants with practical skills to measure, analyse, and improve the lifecycle environmental performance of IIoT devices and smart products.

Program Objectives:

  • Understand ISO-based LCA fundamentals.
  • Assess hardware and embodied carbon impacts.
  • Model device energy, connectivity, and cloud emissions.
  • Evaluate battery, recycling, and end-of-life scenarios.
  • Apply Dynamic LCA and sensitivity analysis.
  • Develop data-driven sustainability models and dashboards.
