About Workshop:

These materials are widely used in applications like targeted drug delivery, biosensing, diagnostics, antimicrobial coatings, and tissue engineering, where precision and efficiency are critical.
Aim: This workshop aims to introduce participants to smart nanotechnology solutions for biotechnology and sustainable product development. It focuses on how functional nanomaterials can improve diagnostics, drug delivery, biosensing, packaging, agriculture, and environmental applications.

Day 1: Fundamentals of Smart Nano Solutions
- Introduction to nanotechnology in biotechnology
- Types of nanomaterials: metal, metal oxide, polymer, and bio-nanomaterials
- Smart properties: antimicrobial, catalytic, sensing, controlled release
- Applications in biotech, healthcare, packaging, and environment
- Hands-on: Select nanomaterial for a biotech/sustainable application
- Tools Used: Canva, Jupyter Notebook, Python (basic plots), Excel / Google Sheets, Google Scholar, PubMed
Day 2: Design & Development of Nano-Based Systems
- Green synthesis and bio-based nanomaterials
- Nano-formulations, nano-coatings, and nanocomposites
- Functionalization and surface modification
- Application design for packaging, water treatment, agriculture, healthcare
- Hands-on: Create nano-formulation or application workflow
- Tools Used: Jupyter Notebook, Python (data visualization), Excel / Google Sheets, ImageJ, Miro / Jamboard
Day 3: Characterization, Applications & Product Development
- Characterization: UV-Vis, FTIR, SEM, XRD, DLS, Zeta potential
- Performance testing and validation
- Safety, sustainability, and regulatory basics
- Lab-to-market pathway and product innovation
- Hands-on: Develop one smart nano-based product concept
- Tools Used: Python (analysis & graphs), Jupyter Notebook, Canva (presentation/design), ImageJ, Excel / Google Sheets, BioRender
