About This Course
This self-paced virtual course equips learners with the practical knowledge needed to commission and performance-test large-scale solar PV plants. It covers solar PV fundamentals, plant-level commissioning workflows (pre-commissioning → commissioning → post-commissioning), performance testing methods, monitoring tools, data interpretation, and troubleshooting. Learners also gain exposure to key performance metrics such as energy yield, capacity factor, and performance ratio, along with compliance and reporting expectations commonly associated with utility-scale PV systems.
Aim
To develop the skills required to ensure successful implementation, safe commissioning, reliable operation, and performance validation of large-scale solar PV systems—supporting the broader growth of the solar energy industry.
Course Objectives
-
Build a clear understanding of the commissioning lifecycle: pre-commissioning, commissioning, and post-commissioning.
-
Learn performance testing methods, monitoring equipment basics, and data analysis approaches.
-
Understand performance metrics: energy yield, capacity factor, performance ratio, and plant availability indicators.
-
Troubleshoot and diagnose common issues during commissioning and testing (BOS, inverter, string, monitoring).
-
Understand regulatory and compliance considerations relevant to commissioning and performance testing.
-
Encourage peer learning and industry networking around renewable energy workflows.
-
Enable learners to take leadership roles in renewable energy implementation and operations.
