Dr. R. Sharma is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ocean Engineering, IIT Madras (Chennai). He earned his B.E. in Civil Engineering from IIT Roorkee (1994), completed an M.Tech in Ocean Engineering (1999), and received his PhD from IIT Kharagpur (2008). His research focuses on the design, analysis, and production of marine structures, along with marine robotics and dynamic data-driven forecasting systems. He is actively engaged in advancing ocean engineering solutions through interdisciplinary research that bridges structural engineering, robotics, and predictive modeling.

He received his Ph.D Degree in Carbon based Nanomaterials from IIT, Bombay in 1997 and earned his postdoctoral from University of Namur (Belgium) 1997-1998 and Nagoya University (JAPAN) in 1998-1999 under JSPS Program. Dr. Darshan Panda is a Scientist in the Department of Crop Physiology & Biochemistry at the ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Bidyadharpur, Cuttack. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Biotechnology from Ravenshaw University in 2022. He is working currently as a Scientist at ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack.
