Miniaturization of Porous to Transparent Ceramics for Structural and Functional Applications

Sterelithography, Cold Sintering, CNC Machining

About Program:

The workshop would cover topics related to powder consolidation and sintering techniques, such as uniaxial and isostatic pressing, hot pressing, hot-isostatic pressing, spark plasma sintering, cold sintering, CNC machining, 3D printing, selective laser sintering, stereolithography, atomic layer deposition, microinjection molding, micromachining, grinding, and polishing. The workshop would also to explore potential applications of miniaturized ceramics, including advanced sensors, electronic devices.

Aim: The aim of the program is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the different techniques used for powder consolidation and sintering of miniaturized porous to transparent ceramics, and to identify potential applications of miniaturized ceramics produced using these techniques.

Program Objectives:

  1. Introduce participants to different powder consolidation techniques and their advantages and limitations.
  2. Teach participants about sintering processes and the factors that affect them, such as temperature, time, pressure, and atmosphere.
  3. Provide an understanding of advanced manufacturing protocols such as CNC machining, 3D printing, and microinjection molding.
  4. Educate participants about ceramic material properties, including their mechanical, electrical, optical, and thermal properties, and how they can be optimized through powder consolidation, sintering, and advanced manufacturing protocols.
