Q1. How do I apply to become a mentor?
Register on the NanoSchool Mentor Portal with your details and expertise. After review and approval, you receive login credentials.
Q2. What information and documents are required?
Bio, qualifications, CV/resume, availability, and certifications/awards. Extra documents may be requested.
Q3. How long does the approval take?
Usually 3–7 business days, depending on profile review.
Q4. Can I update my profile later?
Yes, you can update expertise and availability anytime in the Mentor Portal.
Q5. Will I get training?
NanoSchool may provide orientation/training on the system and mentorship guidelines.
2. Mentor Responsibilities
Q1. Core responsibilities?
Dedicate time, communicate ethically, promote programs, follow schedules, and maintain confidentiality.
Q2. Can I refuse sessions?
Only in urgent cases, with prior communication to NanoSchool.
Q3. Ethical dilemmas?
Disclose conflicts immediately. Avoid biased/unethical behavior.
Q4. Must I follow a plan?
Yes, sessions follow pre-planned objectives and timing.
Q5. Promote external services?
Not allowed. Sessions must stay mentee-focused.
3. Scheduling & Time Commitment
Q1. How is schedule determined?
Through the Mentor Portal, based on availability and expertise.
Q2. Time expected?
As per program schedule. All assigned workshops must be executed.
Q3. Rescheduling?
Allowed only in emergencies, with prompt notification.
Q4. Penalties for missing?
Unexcused absences affect eligibility for future mentorships.
Q5. Multiple mentees?
Yes, if time and quality can be maintained.
4. Communication
Q1. Platforms?
Zoom, Google Meet, Skype, or other agreed tools.
Q2. Response time?
Within 24–48 hours ideally.
Q3. Unresponsive mentee?
Notify NanoSchool. They will handle reassignment.
Q4. Share personal contact?
Optional. Prefer NanoSchool-approved channels.
Q5. Sensitive questions?
Answer professionally and ethically. Refer to guidelines if unsure.
5. Confidentiality & Data Protection
Q1. What is confidential?
All mentee info, program data, and internal content.
Q2. Use materials elsewhere?
No. Content belongs exclusively to NanoSchool.
Q3. Duration of confidentiality?
During and after mentorship.
Q4. Data breach?
Report immediately to NanoSchool.
Q5. Share mentee performance?
Not permitted outside NanoSchool.
6. Compensation
Q1. How is pay decided?
Agreed with NanoSchool before program execution.
Q2. Payment timeline?
Within 5–15 days after completion, or quarterly.
Q3. Reimbursements?
Only pre-approved expenses.
Q4. Incomplete sessions paid?
No. Only completed sessions.
Q5. Negotiate payment?
Possible only before program start.
7. Intellectual Property & Non-Compete
Q1. Who owns materials?
NanoSchool owns all IP created for its programs.
Q2. Use materials elsewhere?
Not allowed without permission.
Q3. Mentor elsewhere?
Yes, if no conflict with NanoSchool or competitors.
Q4. Conflicts of interest?
Must be disclosed immediately.
Q5. Non-compete period?
6 months after termination with direct competitors.
8. Termination & Exit
Q1. Can I resign?
Yes, but pending workshops must be completed first.
Q2. Can NanoSchool terminate?
Yes, for misconduct, fraud, or unmet obligations.
Q3. Pending sessions if I resign?
Must be completed. Transitions managed by NanoSchool.
Q4. Payment after resignation?
Yes, for completed sessions as per terms.
Q5. Can I rejoin?
Yes, subject to approval and program requirements.
9. Program Evaluation & Feedback
Q1. Will I get feedback?
Yes, periodic feedback is provided to mentors.
Q2. Can I give feedback?
Yes, suggestions for improvements are encouraged.
Q3. Performance evaluation?
Based on schedule adherence, quality, and professionalism.
Q4. Mentee feedback?
Yes, mentees give feedback that is shared with mentors.
Q5. Does feedback affect assignments?
Yes, positive feedback may increase opportunities.
10. Independent Contractor Status
Q1. Am I an employee?
No. Mentors are independent contractors.
Q2. Taxes responsibility?
Yes, mentors must handle their own taxes.
Q3. Employee benefits?
Not provided by NanoSchool.
Q4. Work with others?
Yes, as long as no conflicts of interest exist.
Q5. Employment rights?
No employee rights are granted. Mentors remain contractors.
