About
AI in Warfare & International Humanitarian Law is a high-impact international workshop designed to explore how AI technologies—such as autonomous drones, predictive targeting, surveillance systems, and decision-making algorithms—are transforming modern warfare.
As states and defense agencies deploy increasingly autonomous weapon systems (AWS), this workshop facilitates a much-needed dialogue between military strategists, legal scholars, ethicists, and AI technologists. Participants will learn about the legal frameworks governing armed conflict, the ethical constraints on lethal autonomy, and the current and future role of international law in regulating military AI.
Aim
To examine the legal, ethical, and humanitarian implications of integrating Artificial Intelligence in military operations, and to critically evaluate its compliance with International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with a focus on ensuring human dignity in times of conflict.
