  2. Importance of digital forensics in safeguarding systems and linking evidence to cybercrimes.

Module 2: Digital Evidence & Forensic Techniques

  1. Techniques for handling, preserving, and extracting digital evidence (e.g., file carving, timeline analysis).
  2. Overview of the forensic lifecycle (collection, examination, analysis, reporting) and maintaining the chain of custody.

Day 2: Types of Digital Forensics & Tools

Module 3: Categories of Digital Forensics

  1. Introduction to different types of digital forensics: Network, Memory, Cloud, Mobile, and Email/Social Media Forensics.
  2. Techniques and tools for investigating each category, such as capturing network traffic or mobile device data.

Module 4: Digital Forensic Tools & Use Cases

  1. Overview of industry-standard forensic tools like Autopsy, FTK Imager, EnCase, and Wireshark.
  2. Hands-on demonstrations of using these tools in real-world forensic investigations.

Day 3: Cybercrime Investigations & Legal Aspects

  1. Types of cybercrimes (e.g., identity theft, ransomware, insider threats) and their impact.
  2. The role and methods of digital forensic investigators in solving cybercrimes.
