About This Course

The workshop aims to explore AI applications in neuroscience, focusing on neural networks, predictive modeling for neurological disorders, and brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), with hands-on experience and ethical discussions.

Workshop Structure

📅 Day 1 – Foundations of Neural Networks and AI in Neuroscience

  • Introduction to Intelligent Machines
  • Understanding the Significance of Relationship between AI and Neuroscience
  • How biological neural networks helped in the development of artificial neural networks (ANNs)
  • How ANNs are helping in the understanding of Neural behaviours like Cognition

📅 Day 2 – Prediction of Neurological Disorders using Non-electrophysiological Signals

  • Introduction to Gait Analyses in Ataxia (a neurological disorder)
  • Solving Ataxia Classification and Regression problem using AI/ML technique
  • Demo on prediction of Ataxia using transformer based neural network

📅 Day 3 – Prediction of Neuropsychiatric Disorders using Electrophysiological Signals

  • Recording of EEG
  • Introduction to Quantitative EEG
  • Data Preprocessing pipelines: artifact removal, filtering, ICA
  • Extracting Quantitative EEG markers for Machine learning Applications in neurological disease prediction
